| 説明 | "Without knowing our rights we are not able to achieve our rights. Every women should know her rights in her workplace."Last year, Safale told her employer that they must pay a minimum wage for workers - but they didn't take action.Frustrated, Sefale went to Awaj Foundation and lodged an application for legal support. Awaj Legal Cell supported Safale and sent a notice regarding implementation of minimum wages and benefits to the factory. Her bosses tired to sack her, but her colleagues protested and the management finally addressed the issue. Now, almost 1600 workers benefit from the minimum wage, thanks to Safale and the Awaj Foundation.BackgroundAwaj, which means “voice” in Bangla, is a foundation that has over 37,000 members and 37 full-time staff. It has helped settle thousands of disputes regarding wages, overtime, holidays and maternity leave in hundreds of factories.Find out more: awaj.info/www.gov.uk/government/world/organisations/dfid-bangladeshPicture: Ricci Coughlan/DFID------------------------------------------Free-to-use photoThis image is posted under a Creative Commons - Attribution Licence, in accordance with the Open Government Licence.
