| 説明 | Another look at the grand Ottawa's old Union Station, now the Governemt Conference Centre and sadly closed to the public. It was built when railways were Canada’s economic engine. Everyone from King George VI to Elvis Presley has passed through its portals. The building at 2 Rideau Street began life 100 years ago this weekend as Ottawa’s imposing new train station, known initially as Grand Trunk Central Station and from 1920 to 1966 as Union Station. For the past 43 years, it has had a second life as the Government Conference Centre. (Ottawa, Canada, June 2015) |
