説明 | This was the first stone Anglican church in the region. Nearby Sutton forest had a wooden Anglican church from 1845 and only got a stone one from 1861. Bishop Broughton was the only Anglican Bishop of Australia. When he retired in 1852 new dioceses including Adelaide had already been established each with their own bishop and so there were no more Anglican Bishops of Australia. The Broughton River in South Australia was named by Edward John Eyre after William Broughton. |
