| 説明 | Around 3 a.m. on June 26 a local man known as "Bizzy" to his friends was killed crossing the street with a green light by a red light running driver. That same evening many from the local cycling community and the wider cycling community converged at the scene of his death. Ghost Bikes LA and the Bike Oven installed a ghost bike in Bizzy's honor. A procession marched up and down the street, painting homemade shared use markings for bicycles and a wobbly bike lane. The "lane" was quickly painted out four days later. This street would have stopped excessive speeding with a road diet - a road diet stopped by Councilman Gil Cedillo upon his taking office in 2013. In 2014 a pedestrian was killed by a hit-and-run driver at Avenue 26 and North Figueroa. |
