| 説明 | Iwato Yama portrays a very important story in Japanese mythology. In The Beginning, or so it goes, the gods were playing around, and Amaterasu, the goddess of the Sun, was angered by her younger brother, Susano-o-no-mikoto, the god of Storms. So, she hid herself in a cave - Ama-no-iwato - and darkness covered the world.The other gods then tried various ways to get her to come out, including creating undying birds, making a divine mirror, making a bunch of comma-shaped jewels and planting trees. Finally, when the goddess Ame-no-uzume-no-mikoto did a dance, the Sun goddess came out of the cave, and light returned to the world. |
