説明 | The first British 4-6-0, Highland Railway "Jones Goods" (L.M.S. "4F") No.103 (L.M.S. No.17916), built by Sharp, Stewart in 1894 (Works No.4022) and withdrawn in 1934. Although officially designed by David Jones, in reality is was entirely a Sharp, Stewart design and was in all essentials a copy of their standard 4-6-0 supplied to various Indian railways. Only details such as the louvred chimney were changed. The livery is Stroudley's 'Improved Engine Green' - which at a distance appears to be more a mustard than a green, though close inspection of the paint does reveal a definite green tinge. At the Glasgow Riverside Museum, 1 July 2015. |
