not so empty shop window (Free Art Friday!!) / asboluv

| 説明 | I got up nice and early (6am) on the dot!, so I could get out on my mountain bike (just got a new Carrera full suspension the asbolute bollox, with insurance money from havin had my old one nicked on the day England fucked everything up!!)..my reason for getting up early is to race into town and leave my piece for Free Art Friday:www.flickr.com/groups/60177272@N00/so Ive got my I-pod shuffle, my art work , camera and shit loads of positive energy, I race into town, no traffic ..superb!..arms aloft, weaving about, bunnyhopping curbs and buring up the pavement, I know exactly where I want to put the artwork and I'm thanking MDS:www.flickr.com/photos/mydogsighs/for such an excellent idea and concept, as I reach centre of town I'm reaching euphoria as a punk/ska cover of 'Mrs Robinson' by Pennywise kicks into the i-pod, so I'm popping wheelies in the near empty streets and being a nusance to pigeons and street cleaners no hands, head back, dancin like a loon (yep dancin on a bike!!)...just as I reach the spot I had chosen which is something I always do when putting up graffiti..(have the spot well planned and chosen), I realise despite doing something legal for once I'm caught on every fuckin camera in town biking like a nutter and am about to leave a piece of art with my tag on..Doh!!!..worse still the street cleaners are still out and will be sure to bin it!!! MDS there is more to this than meets the eye!!Anywayz I turn tail and find a suitable spot as shown above, I couldn't resist some colour matching and putting something into an empty shop window, which incidently many years back was a shop for Urban music (we still call it jungle, hip-hop and soul!!) that my mates used to run.I know I'm probably boring any of you that are bothering to read this, but I can't stress enough what a positive concept the Free Art Friday is, my usual habits of getting up at 5am to go and stencil have caused much friction within the family, not so much because of the illigality (I have done alot worse than graffiti in my time)!! but because I was bothering to get up early (I hate getting up, and am grumpy as fuck first thing normally) and decorate someone elses wall with a stencil ,come home and go back to bed and still get up grumpy as fuck, but I could'nt be bothered to decorate the house!!today whilst cycling back from town which is Eastwards the sun is up and Joy Divisions Love Will Tear Us Apart is kicking in on the i-pod, (some find this a gloomy track, personally I've always found it uplifting), I'm feeling top of the world, I've given a little something back and I'm heading home knowing the family are starting to stir, and for once this Dad will be up and bouncing around making brekfast and being a little more social rather than ani-social!!Take care all!!: )) |
