| 説明 | 20 x 48Oil on Birch Panel 2003$800.00I painted this around the time I opened the studio and gallery. From the minute I posted my hours and opened my doors I had salespeople pressuring me about all the things I needed to buy. It was scary. I love this painting She is a reminder to me to be nice, have fun, but keep the sword just within reach, just in case. ps: symbols are very important, arent they? i need to say that i paint exclusively in oils and in traditional adacemic oil techniques. I use images from vintage photos, images I take myself, and collage them digitally before producing the painting. I paint on wood panel (birch) covered in layers of hand mixed gesso. It is my wish that the painting speaks for its own content. I intend for others to relate to my work without having to be beaten over the head with it. I do not go for shock value, there are other painters out there who do that better than i could so i leave it to them. My patrons have to live around my work daily, and i want that to be a joyful thing, and not painful as time goes by. Archival issues are very important to me. I want the statements I make to be as vivid in 200 years as they are when they walk out of the studio. so thats it, what do you think? |
