| 説明 | The ropework on these things is amazing. I walked myself into a sweaty, stinky mess today just so I could get photos of this part of the construction process.....Hoka Boko has a symbol on the top of its mast showing three symbols of light - the sun, the moon and the stars. It used to carry a living child, much like Naginata, but since 1929 the child has been replaced by a doll. Why they haven't resumed the practice I don't know, but the doll is articulated and can be moved during the parade. |
