| 説明 | Probably built early 18th century at the latest. Remains of a former windmill integrated into a boundary wall to the rear. Coursed and squared random rubble with a large stilted arched opening to ground floor (rear, as shown) and further doorway. Single rectangular window at 1st floor with dressed margins.An interesting survival of the early phases of the industrial development of the Water of Leith. The windmill is described as “old” on Bell's 1759 map. The windmill is characteristic of the rural nature of the Dean area. |
