| 説明 | The town of Greystones is named after a one kilometre stretch of grey stones between two beaches on the sea front. The harbour area and the railway station are at the northern and southern ends respectively. The North Beach, which begins at the harbour, is a stony beach and some of its length is overlooked by the southern cliffs of Bray Head, which are subject to erosion. The South Beach is a broad sandy beach about one kilometre long. It is a Blue Flag beach and receives many visitors and tourists, mainly in the summer. I would describe it as an ugly beach but I am sure that many will disagree.OMP were the winners of a design competition to regenerate the dilapidated harbour area. John Sisk and Son and Park Developments were the development consortium for this Public Private Partnership with the Local Authority, Wicklow County council, the owners of the 9 hectare /22.5 acre site. The brief clearly stated a need to create a new civic amenity of national importance for Greystones. Unfortunately the development was not completed and much of what is there appears to be private property with limited access. |
