| 説明 | Thanks to Jeffrey from Washington DC for identifing this bird. It's a male "pin-tailed wydah" in full breeding plumage. The females are almost all brown and lack those amazing tail feathers. The wydah is a weed-eating finch that lives largely in the savanna and forages for seeds on the ground. They live in a wide swath of West Africa, and sneak their eggs into the nests of birds of another species, which then raise the chicks for them. |
