説明 | HUNT VALLEY, Md. - Students scientists convened here for the eCYBERMISSION National Judging and Educational Event June 15-19. The NJ&EE includes science, technology, engineering and mathematics related activities in addition to the awards competition finals.Jyuji Hewitt, the executive deputy to the commanding general of the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command addressed the students to kick off the STEM Challenge workshops. He told the students they were honorary scientists and engineers in the United States Army based on the projects they had done for the competition and the science, technology, engineering and mathematics activities throughout the week. He went on to tell the student finalists they were the future. “You will have an opportunity to do some advances for our nation,” Hewitt said. “Maybe it’s one of you guys that cures cancer. Maybe there’s a new way to harness energy, a new way to take care of water or waste management. There are technologies out there that maybe you guys can help work us through.” |
