| 説明 | Logan Blvd. east of Western, and the Kennedy Expressway is tree-lined, but in no way verdant. It's traffic-choked, and even more so now that the intersection of Elston, Fullerton and Damen, just to the south, is being reconfigured, a project which will last until the fall of 2016. Will this attempt to tame the horrendous traffic jams at that intersection move the problem just north, to the Elston/Western/Belmont intersection? We'll see.Sorry if I'm a curmudgeon, folks, (no, actually I'm not sorry), but I've lived too long in Chicago to believe in traffic miracles. The only way the traffic is going to die down, the only way to create a walkable and bikable city, is when Chicagoans and visiting suburbanites stop using cars as extensions of their legs. |
