| 説明 | Parallel tasting of four young lambics served from small casks at the Weekend of Spontaneous Fermentation 2015 in Opstal, Buggenhout. A lambic is called young, "jonge lambiek", if it still has sufficient malt sugar left so that it can be used as "fuel" to re-ferment a blend of old and young lambics to create an oude geuze. The four lambics I'm tasting here were:#6: Lindemans, 12 months old. A mild, fruity lambic that shows potential for a great sour.#7: De Cam, 12 months old: Surprisingly boring, more like a juice than a lambic.#8: Timmermans, 18 months old. Spicy aroma with a fruity acidity, balanced by a mild sweetness. I also noted spruce shots in the taste, perhaps from the hops. Overall a very interesting lambic.#9: Oud Beersel, 14 months old. One of my favorites this year, with a lovely green apples aroma with a fine depth in the taste, with some mild funky notes playing along with the fruits. Delicious. |
