| 説明 | A quick poster map using zonal statistics from the GHSL data on the lowest level census polygons from the Hellenic Statistical Authority (available at www.geodata.gov.gr). The map above is not an accurate thematic representation of built-up areas since some of the polygons used as spatial units are disproportionate in size/area therefore (wrongfully) allowing the reader to assume that the built-up areas are larger than they really are... It could rather serve as a basic administrative-level tool for decision making purposes. Producing polygons by aggregating zones with the same - or nearly the same - amount of built-up areas could be a far more effective means for a more realistic representation of urbanisation.Text on the left side is from ghslsys.jrc.ec.europa.eu - visit the link to read more about the data and explore the maps on a per city basis.GHSL data copyright: European Commission, European Settlement Map 2014.On an different, yet related, note: Flickr should allow extent geotagging for screenshots, maps, satellite images and the like, besides the classic drag & drop assignment of point locations. |
