Kramer, director of the Joint Staff for the Maryland National Guard, was promoted to the rank of brigadier general during a ceremony on January 10, 2015, at the Edgewood Conference Center in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. Prior to his current position, Kramer commanded the 29th Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB). His previous duty assignments include deputy chief of staff for operations/G3, G5, deputy G3, assistant J3, 29th CAB S1, 29th CAB assistant S3, and the commander of headquarters and headquarters company, 29th CAB.
