| 説明 | Sir Edmund 5th Lord Thorpe c1348 - 1418 Edmund was the son of Sir Edmund de Thorpe by Joan Baynard of Colkerk, Norfolk heiress to Ashwellthorpe He m1 1368 Margaret daughter of Richard de la Rivere. He m2 1387 Joan 1414/15 widow of Roger 4th Lord Scales d1386 (having a son Robert dsp 1418 and daughter Katherine who m Arnold son of Arnold Savage 1420 & Joan Etchingham flic.kr/p/2SKYk8 ) and Joan daughter of John de Northwood.Children - 2 heiress daughters1. Joan dsp m1 Sir Robert Echingham, m2 Sir John Clifton of Old Buckenham, Norfolk d14472. Isabel / Elizabeth d1436 m Philip Tylney / Tilney 1453 son of Frederick Tilney flic.kr/p/3hiqEE & Margaret Rochford flic.kr/p/3hiqEh Edmund went with Henry V to France in 1417 from Southampton with 30,000 men and was appointed a Commissioner of array there and a Commissioner to redress infractions of the truce between the King and the Duke of Burgundy in April 1418, but he and his wife's grandson Robert Lord Scales aged 20 died at the siege of the Castle of Louviers in June 1418. His body was brought back to Ashwellthorpe to lie beside his wife. In his 1417 will Edmund bequeathed the Thorpe and Massingham estates to Joan his elder daughter with a reversion to her sister, Isabel in the event of her leaving no issue.
