| 説明 | There are few sights more emotive than the remains of a crofting community: the tenants of this village, of which 28 unroofed buildings remain, were evicted in 1828 by Sir James Milles Riddell, to make way for an extension to his sheep farm.Although hauntingly beautiful, places like this still manage to make me incredibly angry about such injustices carried out in the past, and injustices that continue today both at home and abroad.Today, along with the neighbouring Torr na Moine, the site is a protected Scheduled Monument. |
