| 説明 | After youth crews and BLM staff did preparation cleaning at Reynolds Pond, Prineville’s Pioneer Day event for Public Lands Day was a big hit Sept. 27, 2014.Visitors were able to try cross-cut sawing, Dutch oven cooking, spinning and surveying, just like they did in the ‘pioneer’ days of Oregon.In this video, Redmond smokejumper Marcel Potvin takes a break from demonstrating the cross-cut saw to entertain visitors with some fiddle playing.Oh, and Smokey Bear was there, too!Thanks to all who worked to contribute to this national celebration event of America’s public lands: Deschutes and Ochoco national forests; Sierra Club, Oregon Natural Desert Association; Friends of Oregon Badlands Wilderness; Archaeological Society of Central Oregon; Crook County Historical Society; and REI.For more information on the BLM Prineville district, visit here: www.blm.gov/or/districts/prineville/index.php |
