説明 | The complex has a decorative pediment and balustrade across the roof line. Built in Adelaide bluestone with red brick quoins. Originally the terraces each had a small semicircular balcony. This was replaced with a long straight balcony in the 1970s when the building was renovated. it was fiurther renovated in the 1880s. it si the largest group of terraces left within the city square mile of Adelaide's CBD. Designed by Daniel Garlick well known SA architect of the 1850s to 1900. Garlick buldings will be the subject of a WEA adult education course in 2015. Tenders for their construction were called by Garlick in october 1878 and the building opened in 1880. AMSCOL ice cream makes once owned the building. It is now tenanted with offices for lawyers etc. |
