説明 | The late 11th Century (1089-1100) Norman nave of Gloucester Cathedral (Holy Trinity). The columns are drum piers with narrow convex capitals which are Bergundian-influenced. The triforium above is also Norman but the clerestory has only traces of the original Norman build and is largely of Early English 13th Century build with 15th Century Perpendicular windows inserted. The rib vault dates from 1239-42 and is of Early English quadripartite design. Photo taken 26 August 2014. |
