| 説明 | Sydneysiders rallied in support of the Gloucester community against coal seam gas with a protest outside of AGL's corporate headquarters in North Sydney on Thursday 7 August.A letter was delivered to AGL. The letter, in part, read: "We call on AGL to engage in adequate community consultation, genuinely listening to the concerns of local residents who are seeking a full environmental and social assessment. We call on AGL to immediately cease coal seam gas activities in the Gloucester valley and to commit, in good faith, to not conducting any coal seam gas activity within 2 kilometres of homes."Greens NSW MP Jeremy Buckingham addressed the protest.The protest comes after the NSW Government decision to give AGL approval to frack coal seam gas wells within a few hundred metres of homes at Gloucester. |
