| 説明 | Screen capture of data on cruise in Howe Sound-----(Luna Log, entry 10)----------Fri, July 11, 2014- Porteau Cove launch, Howe Sound- Chris and I- up at 7:00 or so, started loading early, then had breakfast - left house about 10:00, arrived 11:15, tide probably max low, too low to launch (Pt Atkinson: low 11:24 - 0.4m)- launched 12:30, tide about 0.75m, on the flood (Pt Atkinson), enough water (but ramp might be slippery in the rain at this height, and trailer is off the bottom of ramp into gravel and rocks)- hot and sunny- light and variable winds from the south (thermal inflow) for the first hour or so, died in a big hole out in middle of Sound, paddled over to a wind line, whoosh, whitecaps, parked to tie in a reef, beat up left-to-centre side, then crossed on a tack to Anvil Island. Ran back down coast of Anvil, reached across and back to ramp. (Between 6 to 12 knots, when we had wind)- Navitronic report says 24 nautical miles covered, 3.5 hours, but something wrong there- back at ramp 4:45 (tide 4m on the flood)- left launch site at 5:45- home about 7:00?, washed down, picked up a pizza |
