Handy 11th Air Force commander and qualified F-22 pilot, does a pre-flight walk-a-round of one of Hawaii’s F-22 Raptors before taking to the sky during a survey of the activities of Cope Taufan, P. U. Butterworth, Malaysia, June 16, 2014. Cope Taufan is an exercise that reinforces U.S. Pacific Command Theater Security Cooperation goals for the Southeast Asian region and demonstrates U.S. capability to project forces strategically in a combined, joint environment. More than 450 Airmen are participating, as well as four U.S. Air Force airframes, which includes the inaugural deployment of the F-22 Raptor to a Southeast Asian exercise.
