| 説明 | GB Railfreight class 66/7 (JT42CWR) number 66733 (previously 66401) built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division, London, Ontario, Canada in 2003 and unloaded from the a Heavy Lift Ship at Newport Docks, photographed hauling 18 flat wagons with 3 empty gypsum containers mounted on each one working from Mountfield Sidings (Gbrf) East Sussex (British Gypsum's Robertsbridge Works) to Doncaster Down Decoy (Gbrf), South Yorkshire on 17 June 2014. To comply with gas emission regulations limestone (CaCO3) delivered to the power station (by other trains) is used to remove sulfur dioxide (SO2) from the flue gasses (desulfurisation), by converting it into gypsum (CaSO4·2H2O). The waste product (gypsum) is then delivered by train to British Gypsum's Robertsbridge Works where it is used to manufacture plaster and plasterboard for Greater London and the South East of England. |
