| 説明 | Black Diamond Pool is a moderately-large hot spring in the Sapphire Group (= Biscuit Basin) of Yellowstone's Upper Geyser Basin. It is normally calm but does have rare geyser eruptions (see elsewhere in this photo album). For example, a violent eruption ("hydrothermal explosion") occurred in the morning of 23 July 2024. The eruption expelled dark-colored water rich in sediments and debris, resulting in rocky gravel being deposited on the surrounding countryside.63 Black Diamond Pool eruptions have been reported from July 2006 to July 2024. Available descriptions of other eruptions have also noted dark-colored water and debris being ejected. |
