| 説明 | In contrast to the edge unit polyhedron, this face unit polyhedron was an afterthought. Requiring only 60 triangles and 12 hexagons to recreate the same geometric shape, it proved absolutely trivial to assemble.I cannot stress enough how much of a boon it has been to know that Kunihiko Kasahara's Regular-hexagonal Flat Unit is compatible with Tomoko Fuse's Equilateral-triangular Flat Unit II. Combining those two units, as I've done here, saves many hours of time compared to what we used to fold. And don't blame me for the garish pink and fluorescent green joining tabs, okay? They weren't my idea. Olivia, an elementary student and a regular at the library where I folded this, got it in her head to ask me to make a simple "World Cup soccerball" with pink and green in it. This structure was the eventual compromise, and proved sturdy enough for several of her peers to toss around as if it weren't made of paper. |
