| 説明 | Constable 41 Murdo MacLeod and the Aviemore Beat Landrover BST43C at Annual Inspection by HM Inspector of Constabulary at Inverness Castle in 1967.Chief Constable Andrew McClure QPM is the man in suit closest to photographer.Inverness-shire Constabulary merged with Inverness Burgh Police on 16.11.1968 to form Inverness Constabulary (which in turn became part of Northern Constabulary on 16.5.1975)These images were among a pile of old negatives which were (thankfully) passed on to me when Northern Constabulary Identification Branch were having a clear-out of their photographic store a number of years ago. I am grateful to my former colleagues for passing them to me rather than consigning them to the bonfire. They may not seem "that old" but capture scenes long gone which otherwise would be lost to posterity - of forces which no longer exist, having been swallowed up in various mergers over the years. |
