| 説明 | Introduced, yearlong-green, annual herb, which bears numerous glandular hairs and gives the plant a sticky feel. Stems are trailing and often root at the nodes. Leaves are oppositely arranged, oval to kidney-shaped and to 12 mm long. Flowerheads are small cymes. Petals are white, 2-lobed and 2-3 mm long. Flowering occurs over most of the year. A native of South America, it is patchily distributed in coastal areas north of Port Macquarie. It is a weed of pastures, orchards, crops, riverbanks, gardens and other disturbed areas. A minor weed of pastures, it is unpalatable to cattle. Most common in pastures that are overgrazed, fertile/fertilised and moist/irrigated. Control is achieved with healthy vigorous pastures. Has been used in herbal medicine to treat asthma, diarrhoea, acne and other complaints. |
