| 説明 | CAMP ETHAN ALLEN TRAINING SITE, Vt. – A spent brass casing and steel ammunition link are ejected from the side of a M2A1 machine gun during a weapons qualification event at the Camp Ethan Allen Training Site, Jericho, Vt, April 5, 2014. Soldiers from the Massachusetts National Guard’s 126th Brigade Support Battalion, traveled to Vermont to allow their Soldiers assigned to crew served weapons the chance to qualify. Due to the stopping power of the .50 caliber bullet, it can bring a moving vehicle to a complete stop when used correctly; American Forces frequently employ the M2A1 machine gun as a means to prevent vehicle borne improvised explosive devices from reaching their targets. Due to the combination of the M2A1’s stopping power and the urban development throughout much of Massachusetts, Camp Ethan Allen is the only training site in New England that units can fire these weapons.
