| 説明 | If you want to get into a heated discussion all you need do is mention the old public baths site.In 1843 the new Royal Victorian Baths were built south of Dun Laoghaire harbour beside Scotman’s Bay. There was a range of bathing options including sea and fresh water, hot and cold baths. Children had their own pond and paddling pools and there were so called medical baths including sulphur, seaweed and Russian and hot sea-water. Sadly the Baths have been derelict for many years, but were repainted in bright colours in 2012. Plans for restoration of the area are much debated, and some of the more ambitious ideas have been highly controversial. |
