| 説明 | The television in our room on Ryndam had a continuous display of the ship's position and other navigation data. One element was a globe, centered at the ship's location, showing daylight and darkness on the earth at that time. The ship was approaching Key West, Florida at the time. It was 11:33 a.m., Eastern Standard Time. Daylight had already faded in most of Europe, and had not yet reached Alaska. The mileage data were wrong throughout the cruise. It should say 299 nautical miles (344 miles, 565 km), the distance from Tampa to Key West. |
