| 説明 | National Young Farmers Coalition Interim Director Emily Oakley speaks at the plenary panel on Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food: The Past, Present and Future at the Agricultural Outlook Forum on Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 in Arlington, VA. The panel reviewed the goals and objectives of Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food (KYF2) initiative. The panel spoke about how the initiative works; what has been accomplished to date; how local food systems can use KYF2 and other U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs to improve the supply, distribution, and demand for local foods; how KYF2 and Federal –State-local partnerships work together to promote local food production and distribution; and highlighted the initiative’s work to grow the local food economy in Appalachia. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) annual Agricultural Outlook Forum brings together the agricultural community to discuss policy, trade, science, rural development, and the economic outlook for the coming year.
