He's releasing his first album "Love Lies Bleeding" on Vancouver's Kill Kool Records. *wink*The concert is Monday the 9th, at the Whip in Vancouver @ 8pm. It's 5 bucks to get in and we'll have some DIY goodies for you to take home with ya. :PHere's a review of the album, written by a friend...Love Lies Bleeding (2004)The first solo effort of Vancouver-based singer/songwriter Joseph Delamar, The Black Tories is an homage to the Prairie populist punk-rock and living room country gospel and bluegrass Delamar grew up listening to. Love Lies Bleeding doesn’t just explore themes as diverse as terrorism and youth group; it murders and then resurrects them. Asking Delamar what motivated him to write the album, he replies: “Being in rehab and watching my brother’s marriage dissolve. No wait that’s not esoteric enough. Dating a stripper and walking into my hotel room one day to find her brutally murdered. That’s the real motivation.” When asked, “Did you kill her?” Delamar is evasive. To this day he claims to still love her. |
