| 説明 | My personal experience when walking the gold shop windows of Pontevecchio was that I had never seen so much Florentine gold in any one place outside of the HSN..My wife got me away from there Pronto..before I became obcessed with buying something..!!During the Middle Ages, Florence was hit hard by the Plague. Half of Florence was wiped out the by the Black Death, and the remaining populace became suspicious of their old ways of living.It was also around this time that the powerful Medici family moved into Florence. They brought with them vast wealth and an appreciation for the finer things in life. Seeing those older merchants using the Arno River as their own personal sewer system didn't exactly fit in with their ideas for the beautification of Florence. Soon the blacksmiths, butchers, and tanners were replaced with goldsmiths and artists, and the number of shops increased tremendously. |
