| 説明 | During the Ancient Regime, Parlements, rather than a legislative body, were the courts of final appeal in the different provinces of the Kingdom. The judges were aristocrats who had bought or inherited their offices, and were independent of the King. Grenoble's Parlement, also known as Parlement du Dauphiné, was founded in 1453 and was therefore the third oldest in France, after those of Paris and Toulouse. The construction of the Palais du Parlement started in the early 16th century, but the building was object of several modifications in the following centuries. The building became the seat of the court of justice after the French Revolution, until it moved to a newer location in 2002. |
