| 説明 | Home to more than 38 million cars, California reverted to aluminum plates beginning around 1975. And while experimental glass-bead reflected plates were issued on select occasions, it was not until the early 1980s that plates with a fully reflective background were distributed in substantial numbers. The reflectorized "Golden State" plate was introduced in 1982 and discontinued during 1987. Plates with the state name in red script, often referred to as "lipstick" plates, were introduced in late 1993, and the size of the graphic was enlarged in late 1994 and again in 1996.
