| 説明 | The Sea Dart A/A missile launched of the unique Type 82 Destroyer HMS Bristol, 6,300 tons, launched 1969, commissioned 1972 as the lead ship in a class intended to escort a new aircraft carrier which in the event was cancelled - as was the remainder of the Type 82's on order. The Bristol is also highly unusual in having three funnels, the rear two of them being parallel to one another. Although a very expensive ship to run, it lasted in service a long time, which must indicate it had some virtues! Pictured at Avonmouth Docks, 11/82, on return from the Falklands War, when her funnel tops were painted grey. Scanned photograph taken with a Canon AE-1. |
