| 説明 | OHAKEA, New Zealand -- (Left) Republic of Singapore Air Force's Maj. Jeff Lee gets a hand from U.S. Air Force Capt. Eric Prechtl, 517th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron pilot, with a fitting for night vision goggles prior to a night tactical-airdrop sortie Nov 23 during the multilateral Royal New Zealand Air Force-sponsored exercise, Kiwi Flag, at RNZAF Base Ohakea, New Zealand. Lee joined the aircrew for a subject matter exchange on a U.S. Air Force C-17 Globemaster III familiarization-orientation flight during the tactical-airlift exercise. Lee is the detachment commander for the RSAF contingent deployed to KF. He is assigned to 122 Squadron at home station in Singapore. The 517th EAS comprises two C-17s and Airmen from Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. The deployed team is conducting airlift support and cargo and personnel airdrops for the exercise in conjunction with Pacific military partners from New Zealand, the Republic of Singapore, Australia and New Caledonia. Prechtl, a Los Angeles native, is deployed from the 535th Airlift Squadron at JB PHH where he is the awards and decorations chief. Kiwi Flag personnel are supporting Exercise Southern Katipo -- held in New Zealand’s South Island -- by managing air operations and providing cargo and passenger airlift including tactical air drops to SK participants. SK hosts nine countries involved in air, land and maritime operations. (U.S. Air Force photo by Senior Master Sgt. Denise Johnson/Released) |
