| 説明 | A stone podium or plinth sits at each corner of Trafalgar Square - three of them hold statues (George IV, Henry Havelock, Sir Charles James Napier), while the fourth remained empty until the London Royal Arts Society conceived the Fourth Plinth Project in 1999. The project's aim was to have the plinth occupied by an annual succession of contemporary artworks. This project lasted roughly three years before the plinth again lay dormant. Now curated by the Greater London Authority, the fourth plinth is currently occupied by Marc Quinn's statue of Alison Lapper. |
