| 説明 | In a lane too narrow for a car to safely pass a cyclist within the lane, a shared lane marking, or sharrow, should be placed to encourage cyclists to ride far enough to the left that motorists are clearly aware of the need to change lanes for a safe pass. In general, that means the sharrow should be centered in the effective traffic lane.Besides the safety benefit of properly-centered sharrows, they also last much longer if they're under the center of cars rather than under their tires. Here, fallen leaves two days after a storm make it clear the sharrow is barely in motorists' right tire track -- more than half of the shared lane marking is still covered by wet leaves. (The snowless Seattle equivalent of a "sneckdown".)Regardless of sharrow positioning, cyclists in this situation should ride well into the lane cleared by vehicle travel. |
