| 説明 | Shot this one a few weeks back. The wife has a small collection of vintage postcards and we ventured out trying to recreate some of the modern equivalents of them. This was one of the scenes on an undated postcard. Judging by the cars, it was circa 1910/1920's. The Bay Building seems to have expanded South and the two buildings across 7th Avenue are now different/gone. I do enjoy having cars in my shots, it helps me get an idea of the time frame that it was taken.After some research, it looks like the Bay Building was expanded in 1929. The now well known colonnade was added during this expansion.The white banner across the lower portion of the windows says Celebrating 100 years in Calgary downtown.www.wilsonhui.com |
