| 説明 | Sunrise over a bala blossom. This somewhat controversial plant is native to India but is now naturalized all over the world. It has been revered in Ayurvedic medicine for several millennia as a cure for a wide variety of ailments. Roots, stems and leaves contain several alkaloids including ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, which may be dangerous if used incorrectly. Bala is associated with Parvati, the Hindu Goddess of beauty, grace, love and devotion. She is the wife of Shiva and mother of Ganesh. This is a very common "weed" in my area.
