| 説明 | This flower is planted around Mountain View, CA shopping areas and highway interchanges and overpasses. It's mounding shrub 4' tall. It blooms profusely all summer. The leaves appear from my sample to be alternate (not well depicted). The petals are remarkably similar to Phlox divaricata, but it is definitely not that plant. The sepals are fascinating with little bristles with sticky sap at the tips. The young buds are beautifully twisted. The flowers are regular, bisexual, with a superior ovary,a style with five stigmas, five stamens shorter than the pistil. Jepson claims "styles 3," but genus description agrees with this observation. The stamens did not not seem attached to the petals. |
