King George, Va. - 28SEP2013 / Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing - Northern VA

| 説明 | The Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) – Fort Belvoir and Quantico Programs fished a private 4.5 acre stocked pond in King George, Va. Sat., Sept. 28. There were 13 Wounded Warriors/Disabled Veterans, five family members and 10 Volunteer Guides who attended the all-day event and also a service dog, Chance, who has participated in other recent PHWFF events. Members from Hunter Holmes McGuire VAMC (Richmond, Va.) also participated. The gracious hosts provided lunch, which included BBQ pork and chicken, beans, coleslaw, cookies and a custom-made PHWFF cake from Wegmans. Everyone was able to land fish; small mouth bass, crappie and bluegill. Fishing was done from the bank and also from the two John boats that were provided by the hosts. Some attendees brought belly boats and canoes to use. All fishing equipment was provided to the Warriors and family members. (Photos by Marty Laksbergs) |
